The history around colonial America is painful and fraught with difficulty. Many Americans have wondered about how many of the first European settlers could have done better. Amidst this time was an event that we now call “Thanksgiving.”

Michael Medved, author of The American Miracle, makes a point in this video not about the suffering that happened after the Thanksgiving event, but what the event stood for amidst such difficult times, and that taking a humble perspective of recognizing one’s role in God’s Providence is what the Separatist Puritans sought. While it’s important to understand the mistakes in history to learn from them, there is greater value in recognizing and celebrating how we can unite together in thanks. A great point made by Mr. Medved!
