Ignorance is NOT bliss. It prevents us from realizing our full potential.

One case in point is in understanding the full potential of man himself. Part of this struggle is not knowing what a mature man looks like. Therefore, it is essential and critical to think about what a mature man looks like. In this way, it would help to chart the course towards achieving that ideal.

King, Warrior, Magician, Lover by Robert Moore and Douglas Gillette is a book that provides a deeper understanding of four important building blocks of mature masculinity. Based on Carl Jung’s work on the archetypes and the collective unconscious, the authors offer fascinating explanations on four mature masculine archetypes of king, warrior, magician and lover.

Although it is only a 156-page book, it contains so much important information. I think if we understand the content well, it will help us recognize archetypal patterns in our daily lives. Then, we can have better control over our immature archetypes and find a way to develop them, because everyone has the capability to do so.
